1.) Cohesion is an end-game raiding guild, therefore and we expect you to be present and on time to raids, repaired, and have consumables to last the entire duration of the raid.
Our raid times are Tuesday-Thursday from 6-10pm server time (8-12pm EST). It is very likely that Monday will be added to our raid schedule as we progress in WotLK.
2.) We expect you to be prepared for invites 30 minutes prior to raid time (Invites go out at 5:30pm. Raids begin at 6:00pm and end at 10:00 pm). You are considered late if you are not online, and your slot may be given away if you are not logged onto your main, out of a group, and ready to go.
3.) You should be familiar with boss fights for the present raid (which includes reading about the boss fights and watching videos). I will, however, give brief runthroughs on most fights just to make sure people know what they're doing exactly. I will always give an in-depth explanation on new content for the guild.
4.) Raid members will be expected to keep AFK time to a minimum and NEVER during boss attempts.
5.) Every raider must have a working vent and it would be preferred if you have a WORKING microphone.
6.) You are expected to be present during raid times, even if you are not needed to raid at the beginning of the evening, we may need you later in the night. Do not leave/log-off unless you speak with an officer and have been given the go-ahead to leave.
7.) Most importantly, signing up for a raid does not absolutely guarantee a raid spot, it certainly increases your chances over someone who hasn't signed up, but if we have 30 sign-ups, and all 30 people show up, 5 people will not get spots for part of the time.
8.) Excuse the interjection, but you will notice that our application is broken into two sections, "General Questions" and "Short Answer Questions." In the general section, there are fourteen questions, but the numbering goes up to fifteen. This was an intentional error designed to make sure people read the required threads. If they didn't read this thread, they likely won't fix the error. So please fix the numbering error when you fill out your application. Additionally, the first question on the application reads, "Have you read the forum post entitled About Cohesion and Before you Apply…?" Answer "No, I HAVE read them." to that question.
9.) Do not whine about things in raid chat. I do not care if you are tired of wiping on a boss. It is part of progression. Also, do not whine over loot. If you stick with the guild, you will get all the loot you want eventually. Also, don't act immature in raid chat or vent, especially during boss attempts. I'm all for having fun in raid, but if the raid is struggling due to lack of focus, childish talk will only make things worse. We can be friends outside of raids, but in a raid, I am not your friend, and I take it seriously and want to get the job done. You should as well.
Loot Rules
We operate under a loot council system. The general goal of a loot council is to award gear to those who would receive the largest upgrade from the piece of gear dropped. While this is our goal, we deviate slightly from this generalization. Our specific rules are as follow:
The main tanks have priority on all main-spec loot
10 Mans: In 10-man instances, it is likely we will operate under a simple /roll system to determine who receives loot. Feel free to cut deals with other members in the raid regarding loot. However, the loot council may have some say in who receives the loot. For example, if someone has already received loot, they will likely be "asked" to pass the loot to the second highest roll to spread out loot distribution, as our goal is to gear the entire guild, not just one person.
25 Mans: In 25-man raids, the loot council system will be in full effect. Following the downing of a boss, a member of the loot council (officers and and select veterans in the guild) will take whispers for the item.
You must link the item which the desired loot will be replacing. The loot council will discuss in a private channel who will receive the loot. Their decision will be based on raid attendance, when the last time loot was received by the player, rank the guild, how big of an upgrade the item is (i.e. how much it will benefit the player, as well as the raid as a whole), and how skilled the player is.
On tier pieces (if they exist in WotLK), tanks and healers will have priority most of the time. This does not mean this will always be the case (decisions are made on a case-by-case basis). Additionally, raiders will have priority on loot over members and trial-members (this does not mean that members and trials will never receive loot).
Trash Drop Recipes: When it comes to trash drop recipes, if the recipe is BoP and yields a BoE item, then recipe will go to the guild blacksmith, tailor, leatherworker, etc. If the recipe is BoE and yields a BoP item, the recipe will be free-rolled on by members of the given profession if they plan to use the item for main spec. If no one needs the recipe, it will go to the guild bank.
All our members and applicants must understand that our goal is to progress, and progress quickly. We believe with these loot rules we will be able to quickly progress through content.
